Hey Class of 2026 ~ Countryside or City Vibe?
SO.MANY.OPTIONS. It’s a GOOD problem to have when it comes to choosing a location for your senior photos!
With my business based in Hollis, NH I am fortunate to have an array of awesome backdrops for sessions in Southern NH. Last year’s high school senior portrait sessions were a mix of countryside and city vibe shoots. Each one awesome in its own unique way!
Here I offer a few suggestions and descriptions of new and tried-and-true locations for your senior photo experience!
In 2024 I photographed in two new-to-me locations that could not have been more different but each are 100% worthy of a return shoot. The first was the David W. Deane Skateboard Park in Nashua, NH for an action-packed shoot. It was a high flying, fast moving, sweaty tee shirt, hat and sneakers type of shoot. Never thought I would think this would be a favorite look for a session and yet it was awesome! This seemingly reserved guy was oh so in his element at this location doing what he loved and that made for a shoot that was uniquely him.
The other new-to-me location session was for a beautiful young woman among the flower fields of Gardent Farms in Milford, NH. Sunflowers, wildflowers, and color galore! If you are seeking the ultimate “feminine” location for your shoot this will be at the top of my list.
The tried and true Beaver Brook Association in Hollis, NH is always a favorite location – with good reason! It is countryside at its finest. It is an easy to find, easy to park location that offers a variety of looks in one compact spot. With wide open paths, trees, barns, fences and stone walls this place photographs beautifully year-round! It’s a can’t go wrong type of location.
And for a countryside location with a bit of “edge” or drama I have the perfect spot for you! Bancroft Castle in Groton, MA offers the best of both worlds! The short (but a bit steep) hike up to the castle is well worth what awaits you at the top of Gibbet Hill. With both open field space and scenic views of the town below to the incredible stone walls and nooks and crannies of the main tower of the structure it offers a little bit of everything, It has been a favorite location for the guys who want a location that feels “masculine.”
On the flip side…..if you are a Class of 2026 senior seeking more of a city vibe I have got you covered there too! Downtown Nashua, NH is a short 10-minute drive from here and yet it photographs like a big city. Some of my most fun shoots have been on what I call a downtown walk-about session. Early Saturday morning works well for this location. The streets are quiet at 7:00am and we have the “run” of Main Street, side alleyways, cool door fronts and parking garage roof tops; the concrete jungle never looked so good!
SO, I offer these sites as ideas for your senior photo session. HOWEVER, I am completely open to following you to YOUR favorite spot! I can’t wait to hear what you come up with for me! As you can see in these images the Class of 2025 certainly brought the best of their best style and personality.
Class of 2026, it’s YOUR time! Let’s see what you’ve got!! Let me help you bring out the best in YOU!!
